Our Water Proof sails are built using the same details. There are different design parameters that need to be taken into account to prevent water pooling in the sail, This can get extremely heavy very fast and cause a dangerous situation. So please contact us to discuss these applications.

Our Sails come complete and ready to install with all the tensioning hardware included. We take the size of all hardware into account when design the sail so that it will fit the space perfectly when complete. BUT BEFORE WE BEGIN BUILDING THE SAIL ALL ATTACHMENT POINTS MUST BE INSTALLED! If your guessing where the points will be, We are guessing that the sail wont fit right!

                                         Corner Details

The  sails have a Stainless Steel wire around the perimeter and all corners have a D ring with a pressed liner that the perimeter wire passes around, this will prevent any chafe of the perimeter wire from happening. The D ring is then attached to the sail with a seat belt type webbing.

Sewing Thread

Our standard thread is Tenara HDPE Rot Proof Thread. This is the same type of fiber that the sail material is made of and will not rot out from exposure to the sun.

Edge Shape
The edges have a curve cut into them and are not a straight line. This curve works with the wire to provide tension on the fabric in the center of the sail. So when thinking about the layout keep this in mind that the sail will have a curve along the edge when complete and not be a straight edge. this can make a big difference when trying to overlap sails. We would be happy to provide you with a top view layout of the sails, just email us a sketch of the layout and we will send you back a layout that includes the hardware and shape of the sails.
